Summary
"The author's fictitious ancestor, Paulin Landwirt, is a peasant farmer in early 16th century Germania (as he called Germay in those days) with his wife Diana and their four children. Due to the peasant uprising against the aristocrats in 1524-25, the peace-loving Landwirts desire to escape the tension-filled world that is becoming commonplace. They first seek shelter within Germania on the beautiful Langenberg mountain. Finally, realizing the extent of the bloodshed caused by the peasant/aristocrat war, the Landwirts leave their country and their family name behind to seek a new life in the Netherlands. There they take on their new identity, known as 'from the Langenberg' (in Dutch, van den Langenberg). Join the adventure as Paulin shares deep personal feelings toward his faith and family throughout the transition to their new life." -- Back cover
